{"id":698,"date":"2022-05-31T09:13:32","date_gmt":"2022-05-31T09:13:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.checkmateq.com\/blog\/?p=698"},"modified":"2023-08-07T09:08:33","modified_gmt":"2023-08-07T09:08:33","slug":"new-relic-slack-alert","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.checkmateq.com\/blog\/new-relic-slack-alert","title":{"rendered":"How to create new relic slack alert policies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>New<a href=\"https:\/\/www.checkmateq.com\/full-stack-development\"><strong> Relic<\/strong><\/a> allows us to define the <strong>conditions<\/strong> in our system that you want to be notified about when a certain threshold is reached. A <strong>query<\/strong> and a <strong>threshold<\/strong> are both required attributes for a condition. A query defines what you want to be notified about and a threshold defines when you want to be notified. We group together related conditions to create <strong>alert policies<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Follow these steps to create an alert policy in New Relic. We will use slack to receive alert notifications.<\/p>\n<h3>Step1:\u00a0 Create Alert Policy<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Log in to your New Relic account. Select <strong>Alerts&amp;AI-&gt;Alert Conditions<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Give a name to your policy.<\/li>\n<li>Select Issue Creation Preference. There are three options:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>\u00a0One issue per policy:<\/strong> Only one issue will be open at a time for the entire policy so you will receive the least number of notifications and will require immediate action.<\/li>\n<li><strong>\u00a0One issue per condition: <\/strong>Only one problem will be open for each condition in your policy.<\/li>\n<li><strong>One issue per incident: <\/strong>An issue will be created for every incident in your policy.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>We will be selecting One issue per policy.<\/li>\n<li>After that click on <strong>Set up notifications<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select Slack for sending notifications.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-771\" (max-width: 1362px) 45vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Click on <strong>Select workspace-&gt;Create New Destination-&gt;Authenticate in one click<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Enter your workspace URL and
